Wisconsin police conducted a six-week investigation and made a number of methamphetamine related arrests ranging from drug possession to manufacturing and possession with intent to sell. Several people were arrested and charged with felony drug charges as a result of this investigation.
According to reports by Wisconsin police, officers arrested eight people on drug charges and one for allegedly obstructing police. These arrests came after raids on three suspected meth labs. Police say that the discovery of each methamphetamine lab and the arrests made in each location led them to yet another laboratory. One after another, police made arrests all over the area. The meth related arrests encompassed a number of men and women ranging in age from 23 to 36.
These individuals face a multitude of criminal charges, including:
- Drug possession
- Manufacturing methamphetamine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Probation violations
- Maintaining a drug house
- Purchasing more than the legal limit of pseudoephedrine
Wisconsin police have noted an uptick in the sales of methamphetamines. Previously, they thought the drugs were coming in from neighboring states; however, police now believe that local methamphetamine labs are supplying the drugs. Smaller meth labs that the police have coined “ma and pa labs” are becoming more prevalent, and police have begun to target the individuals responsible for these smaller labs as well.
Law enforcement officials plan to continue their investigation related to the three meth labs that were shut down earlier this month. They hope to arrest at least eight more individuals in the near future.
