Milwaukee High School teacher faces sexual assault allegations

| Jun 13, 2013 | Sex Crimes

Wisconsin enforces strict laws when it comes to crimes involving sex. Because of the harm that it may bring, sexual assault is especially loathed by the community of Milwaukee. As a result, people who are faced with sexual assault allegations are often tagged as sexual predators.

In Milwaukee, a teacher who taught science at a local high school is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old student and performing a sex act on a 14-year-old. According to police, the 28-year-old teacher was allegedly caught engaging in a sexual act with the younger boy in late May. Witnesses claimed that they spotted a car rocking from side to side in the school parking lot. They said that they then found the teacher with the young boy in the car.

The witnesses called the police and the teacher was arrested on the charge of second-degree child sexual assault of a minor. Days later, a 15-year-old boy alleged that the teacher sexually assaulted him. As a result, the teacher was suspended from her duties. She may face 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.

Sexual assault charges can ruin the accused person’s life, even if that person has not been convicted yet. The accused person may lose his or her job and have a rough time securing another one. There have also been defendants who have been abandoned by their families because of the shame of their situation. There are countless others who suffer in prison as they await their arraignment.

Wisconsin’s sex crime defendants may avoid these unpleasant repercussions if they act quickly. Seeking the help of a legal professional to represent them in court is usually the first proactive step. A Milwaukee legal professional is highly capable of protecting the defendant’s rights under the law. With the legal professional’s knowledge and expertise, he or she may build a solid criminal defense through strategic analysis of facts. He or she can then wield that information to successfully turn the situation around for the accused.
