Forcing someone to submit to another person’s sexual advances is a very serious offense in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as well as throughout the United States. Additionally, this crime is so serious that it attracts the attention not only of law enforcement, but also of the public. Those people who are accused of committing sex crimes in the Milwaukee area are sure to have a rough time even though they are not yet convicted, regardless of their social stature.
Readers may learn from this example. Reports indicate that a Milwaukee public official is now facing a criminal sexual assault investigation after a county pension counselor alleged that he sexually assaulted her. Those accusations are included in a recently released search warrant.
The search warrant states that after submitting his retirement paperwork, the official had the chance to be alone with the woman in his office. She claimed that he kissed her and touched her inappropriately. The official denied the allegations and said that the incident did not happen.
As is the case in other states, a conviction for sexual assault in Wisconsin can have severe penalties, which may include incarceration and fines. Even mere allegations of sexual assault ruin a person’s reputation on a permanent basis.
To prevent this type of situation from happening, the Milwaukee official, as well as local residents who are facing the same problems, should seek to establish a strong criminal defense as quickly as possible. With a solid criminal defense, the defendant’s rights will be thoroughly protected.
