Crimes that involve sex often attract widespread attention and create alarm with residents of Milwaukee. That is why most people who are charged with sex crimes, such as sexual assault, are extremely likely to suffer prejudice in the public’s eyes in addition to the stern penalties of the law.
In Lomira, just an hour drive from Milwaukee, a 60-year-old local man was released from the county jail recently after posting $5,000 bond for allegations of sex crimes against a minor. The man was accused of child enticement and having sex with a child 16-years-old or older. He was also charged with exposing genitals to a child.
According to a circuit court access website, the accused man is scheduled to appear before a court judge for a scheduling meeting. In addition, the court website said that a bail or bond forfeiture hearing is scheduled soon.
These allegations may put the accused man in an extremely bad situation. Like other alleged sex offenders before him in Wisconsin, he could see his reputation, future and life wrecked before his eyes. That is because the law has enforced harsh penalties for convicted sex offenders and most communities abhor those who are accused of committing such lewd acts.
A problem as big as this needs an immediate and effective remedy. It may be a good idea for Milwaukee’s alleged sex offenders to get the right information in order to understand the severity of their situation. The right information can go a long ways to a better result in the case.
